Both a boutique fashion brand and a proud member of the 1% For The Planet movement, Auguste The Label stands for environmental justice – and they do so beautifully. They (and I) believe that all fashion businesses should play their part in designing for a better and brighter future.
Set in the competitive field of young Australian labels, Auguste wanted to create an entirely new look and feel that would elevate and differentiate the brand while reflecting its essence: vintage-inspired clothing for the modern woman. This was a complete overhaul of the label’s branding that included the logo redesign, a new Shopify eCommerce site and Campaign Monitor template, store signage, swing tags, neck labels and all other packaging assets.
I created a new typeface for the logo to evoke a classic yet fresh feel, which when paired with the new earthy brand colour creates an association with nature. With sustainability as one of Auguste’s key brand pillars, it was important to not only emphasise this on an visual level but also a material one. The new swing tags are created from FSC stock, the boutique bags from recycled paper and the postage satchels from compostable materials to ensure the brand treads lightly on the earth at every touchpoint – and in turn allowing its customers to do so, too.
